What is Condylomata ?

Condylomata may begin at any age. Condylomata can affect healthy people, or it can be associated with medical problems. Some cases are genetically inherited. Severe condylomata acuminata types have also been associated with an increased risk for other cancers, including other genital and lung cancers. Women initially infected by one type of condylomata acuminata do not develop immunity to other types. Condylomata acuminata is a viral skin disease characterized by a soft wart-like growth on the genitals. In adults, the disorder is considered a sexually transmitted disease, but in children the virus appears to be transmitted with or without sexual contact.
