Our goal in setting up this website is quite straight forward. we want to help you become acne free!

Acne is a chronic skin disease and perhaps the most common. When you have acne, your pilosebaceous unit is having a problem. This is the sebaceous glands and hair follicles which become inflamed. You can have it on the face, the neck, chest and your back and shoulders. Nearly eighty per cent of young people between the ages of 12 and 24 suffer from acne. It is also thought to be closely related to the disturbance in the hormones during puberty. Pusular rash, generally on the face, is quite common in adolescence. The rash will cover forehead and cheeks, forming small boils with heads of pus. The hormonal problem on the skin's oil glands (sebaceous glands) leads to plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions commonly called pimples or zits.

Acne is a Skin disease which causes painful social and psychological effects on sufferers. Many people feel that acne has changed their lives. Some feel it has ruined it. At the very least, they feel they have become different people because of this Skin disease (acne), or they have missed chances or let opportunities slip away because of the way they've felt about themselves and the way they look.

The majority of patients recover between the ages 20 and 30 years. But it is still common in men over 30 years. In women, it rarely lasts beyond the early thirties and is normally worse before each menstrual period. The diseases causes a great deal of embarrassment at an age when people tend to be sensitive about personal appearance.

What Causes Acne?

Bacterial infection of clogged hair follicles is one of the main cause of acne. The causes of acne is unknown. Acne is not caused by your diet, scientific studies have confirmed this. Acne is caused by overactive oil glands ( sebaceous glands ), stimulated by the hormone androgen , mixing with dead skin cells, which leads to plugged pores and outbreaks. This is particularly true during the teenage years when androgen production is at its highest. The hair, sebum, and keratinocytes that fill the narrow follicle may produce a plug, which is an early sign of acne.

  • Small cysts (comedones) form at the base of hair follicles, as pores are clogged by thick sebum. These cysts get inflamed and infected, forming acne.
  • Acne is common during adolescence as the hormonal change activates sebum formation.

Acne Treatment and Cure

  • Acne generally resolves on its own, thugh it causes great anguish and anxiety to teenagers.
  • Severe cases may have secondary infection with the formation of deep cysts, visible outside as large boils or lumps. These are better treated by your doctor.
  • Acne is often treated by dermatologists (doctors who specialize in skin problems). These doctors treat all kinds of acne, particularly severe cases. Doctors who are general or family practitioners, pediatricians, or internists may treat patients with milder cases of acne.
  • For deep acne scarring, face fillers like Restylane can raise the depression to smoothen the skin.
  • The Claro IPL is a brand new at home acne clearing device which uses the same IPL technology found at medical spas to use heat and light to clear your skin of pimples.

Blackheads Whiteheads Information

Blackheads are caused when a pore is only partially blocked by excess oil that is oxidized. The "black" appearance of them is not caused by dirt, but by the melanin pigment from the dead skin cells.

Acne Skin Care Solution

There are humdreds of acne creams on the market. Severe cases ( nodules and cysts and large boils) must be treated by your doctor who may recomend antibiotics, local creams, and hormones, depending on the severity.

AVOID!- Vigorous 'facials' and exfloliation in the presence of red, painful or pus-filled rash. Acne does not clear up faster if you wash your face several times a day or sit out in the sun. Acne is not caused by dirt. Washing your face many times a day can actually do more harm than good. Sitting in the sun only darkens your skin and can cause scaring.

Adult Acne Information

Mostly Adult acne type affects nearly about 25% of all adult men and 50% of adult women at some time in their adult lives. Unfortunately, it's not easy to treat. Traditional therapies have a variety of side effects and sometimes require months to work, if they work at all. Topical creams and lotions can cause redness and irritation. It is important to realize that adult acne is more common than people may think, and adult sufferers are not alone.

If you are one of many men or a woman with adult acne, you may be asking yourself  what is the cause of adult acne or if there is an adult acne cure for you. There is no total cure for adult acne, but there are ways to help clear it up.
